Sedu Beauty Tips: The Dos and Donts of Hair Brushing

By Mary Anne Lionel Hair brush is one of the most essential tools every person, man or woman, should have. Hair brush helps dealing with tangles and bed hair look; to some extend it even solves the problem of hair styling. But the greatest thing that can be done with a hair brush is keeping our hair naturally moisturized as you transfer natural skin oil from the roots to the tips of the hair when brushing. To help your hair grow healthy and shiny, you should brush your hair every day with careful gentle strokes that decrease the friction and smooth the hair scales. Harsh and rough brushing will only increase the damage to your hair. Moreover, such brushing increases the amount of pulled out hairs in two times. The use of proper hair brush is essential for sedu hairstyles as it helps to avoid unnecessary damage, eliminates static electricity, and adds shine and smoothness to the hair. There are several hair brushes that should be at hand when creating and maintaining your sedu hairstyles: 1. Wide-toothed comb for detangling hair after and before washing. Every time you are preparing to wash your hair you should make a detangling first. This will help you lessen the risk of mechanical damage during washing and make the after-washing detangling easier, thus eliminating more mechanical damage. Such combs should be of antistatic material, so read labels carefully and make sure you wont harm your hair with poor quality product. 2. Fine-toothed tailed comb for styling. You should use this comb when making heat straightening using a flat iron. Just follow the flat iron with fine-toothed comb to make sure that there are no tangles and frizz left in your hair after straightening. The tail of the comb will be handy in creating prom hair styles and dividing hair in separate tresses for straightening; 3. Massaging wooden hair brush that will help you to massage scalp after you detangled the hair and are preparing to sleep. Usage of this brush at least twice a week will help you increase the blood circulation in the scalp and improve the state of the hair cuticle after a couple of months of usage; 4. Boar bristle round brush for styling. This hair brush is a must for short to medium hair styles. It helps to obtain neat and sleek hairstyle. Boar bristles eliminate frizz and add shine to your hair; 5. Ceramic styling hair brush is good for medium to long hair styles because it helps to manage long hair and eliminate static electricity. You will be even able to create soft waves that will frame your face and make it look gorgeous. The above mentioned hair combs and brushes should be of high quality so that your hair wont suffer from the harmful materials and faulty workmanship. It is also recommended to wash combs with warm water at least once in two months in order to eliminate product built up. To make correct brushing, follow these simple rules: 1. Before washing the hair, use a wide-toothed comb. If you have a long hair, start from the tips and move gently to the top of the hair. Do not pull the hair or comb too energetically, or you will lose healthy and mature hairs that hold firmly in your scalp. If your hair style is short just move brush through the hair from roots to the tips to eliminate frizz and arrange your hair before washing; 2. After washing DO NOT brush the hair while it is still wet. The hair should be at least dump when you start to detangle it, or you are sure to lose more healthy hairs. Do not be afraid to see hairs on the brush as long as you dont feel any pain from their pulling off. It is a natural process of hair growth when up to 100 hairs are falling out every day to spare the place for new and young hair. 3. If you are using blow dryer quite often, you should use round brushes of 100 per cent boar bristle for styling of the short hair, and ceramic round brushes for styling of the long hair. Such brushes will make it easier for you to style the hair, add shine to your hair, and help you to arrange the hair into any style from spikes to soft sedu waves. 4. If you are using a flat iron, you should start straightening from the bottom of the hair. Separate the bottom layer of the hair from the top layers, and pin up the top layers using tail of the fine-toothed comb. Straighten the bottom layer of the hair, and proceed with the upper layers until you are finished. Every time you apply flat iron to the separate tresses follow the flat iron with the comb to make sure that there are no tangles left. 5. Before going to bed, apply massaging brush. Detangle the hair first, and then gently brush the hair, especially the root area to improve blood circulation and allow your head to relax after the long day of styled hair. You will see positive results of such technique just after a couple of months. Your hair will look healthier and shinier, your scalp will receive more nourishment through improved blood circulation, and if you have problems with hair falling out, they will be diminished. So, hair brushing is the separate science, and knowledge of its rules will help you decrease the amount of money you spend on hair care products. Moreover, the state of your hair health will improve dramatically and your hairstyle will receive the status of the Sedu hairstyle because of the natural shine and smoothness of your hair. Fast Weight Loss Diets

By Jason Gluckman When you see a diet that claims instant weight loss results red flags should go up. Infomercials that boast that their diets are easy and you can lose 30 pounds in 30 days are nothing more than weight loss gimmicks. Many people are duped by these diets because they sound good, and because they often have a celebrity or athlete to endorse them. Remember two things: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, and celebrities and athlete like getting paid. Inspect all weight loss programs for their level of success, not for the hype with which it is promoted. The reality is folks; there is no real way to lose weight safely other than eating fewer calories than you burn. The rate your body burns calories and your low calorie eating habits are the two most important elements to losing weight. If you exercise and lower your caloric intake too much, you’ll burn more muscle than fat. This is when your diet fails because you eat more to make up for your body starving, and this is why crash diets never work. Miracle pills, no-carb diets, etc., don’t work. The only way you are going to lose weight is to eat a healthy, low fat diet and exercise. Your diet should be high fiber with more fruits and vegetables and less fried foods. Think low fat and eat more fish, skinless chicken and extra lean ground beef. Don’t keep junk food in the house, and exercise every day. Learn Forex Trading to Expand Opportunities

By Lorna Goldsborough Capitalize on the opportunity to learn forex trading so you can begin the process of branching your portfolio out of domestic stocks and into the global market. Any financial advisor worth his weight will tell you that it is important to diversify your investment portfolio and this is by far the largest volume market in the world. Daily, it does nearly four times the volume of trading than the New York Stock Exchange does. Anyone who holds a basic understanding of how money is converted and exchange rates work can learn forex trading. The sale or trading of currency is at the heart of what forex is. Using one currency to buy another means that your counterpart is using their currency to buy yours. As exchange rates fluctuate and the economies of nations surge and recede, these investments in cash behave in value very much like a traditional stock. As with any new venture, you will need to master the vocabulary that is an inherent part of forex. When you begin to learn forex trading you will be introduced to terms like pip, spread, cross, base currency and trade currency. Foreign exchange trading does have some unique terminologies. While they may be new to you, you will learn them quickly because they describe certain parts of forex quotes that you will need to understand in order to trade. There are quite a few resources available to those who wish to learn forex trading. The reliability of internet access has opened the door to online forex trading, which means that more investors have the ability to participate in trading activity. Since the foreign exchange trade is considered a spot market, the ready availability of internet access is crucial. Business is done on the “spot,” thus the name. You can capitalize on many benefits when you learn forex trading. The availability of a 24-hour a day market is one. Since forex involves the trade of currency at banks across the globe, the market never closes. The market is also remarkably liquid, meaning that you will never have trouble finding trading partners. Since most of your trading partners are banks and the medium is cash, you will never be at a loss for customers. Another benefit is the lack of commissions. Since you make the trades on your own, you don’t have to spend part of your profit on brokerage commission fees. Taking the time to learn forex trading opens one more investment door for you. As you continue to realize the importance of diversifying your investment portfolio, it may be a good idea to begin looking at what kinds of opportunities are available to you in foreign exchange trading. You may be surprised to see who else is capitalizing on this market and just how easy it is. Easy Fall Propagation Techniques

By Michael McGroarty As a home gardener, fall should be a very special time for you. Fall is the best season of the year for plant propagation, especially for home gardeners who do not have the luxury of intermittent mist. The technique that I am going to describe here can be equally effective for evergreens as well as many deciduous plants. The old rule of thumb was to start doing hardwood cuttings of evergreens after you have experienced at least two hard freezes. After two hard freezes the plants are completely dormant. However, based on my experience it is beneficial to start doing your evergreen cuttings earlier than that. So instead of doing by the book hardwood cuttings youre actually working with semi-hardwood cuttings. The down side to starting your cuttings early is that they will have to be watered daily unless you experience rain showers. The up side is that they will start rooting sooner, and therefore are better rooted when you pull them out to transplant them. To prepare an area in which to root cuttings you must first select a site. An area that is about 50% shaded will work great. Full sun will work, it just requires that you tend to the cuttings more often. Clear all grass or other vegetation from the area that you have selected. The size of the area is up to you. Realistically, you can fit about one cutting per square inch of bed area. You might need a little more area per cutting, it depends on how close you stick the cuttings in the sand. Once you have an area cleared off all you have to do is build a wooden frame and lay it on the ground in the area that you cleared. Your frame is a simple as four 2 by 4s or four 2 by 6s nailed together at each corner. It will be open on the top and open on the bottom. Just lay it on the ground in the cleared area, and fill it with a coarse grade of sand. This sand should be clean (no mud or weed seed), and much coarser than the sand used in a play box. Visit your local builders supply center and view each sand pile they have. They should have different grades varying from very fine to very coarse. You dont want either. You want something a little more coarse than their medium grade. But then again its not rocket science, so dont get all worked up trying to find just the right grade. Actually, bagged swimming pool filter sand also works and should be available at discount home centers. Once your wooden frame is on the ground and filled with sand, youre ready to start sticking cuttings. Wet the sand the day before you start, that will make it possible for you to make a slit in the sand that wont fill right in. In this propagation box you can do all kinds of cuttings, but I would start with the evergreens first. Taxus, Junipers, and Arborvitae. Make the cuttings about 4 long and remove the needles from the bottom two thirds of the cuttings. Dip them in a rooting compound and stick them in the sand about an inch or so. Most garden centers sell rooting compounds. Just tell them that you are rooting hardwood cuttings of evergreens. When you make the Arborvitae cuttings you can actually remove large branches from an Arborvitae and just tear them apart and get hundreds of cuttings from one branch. When you tear them apart that leaves a small heel on the bottom of the cutting. Leave this heel on. It represents a wounded area, and the cutting will produce more roots because of this wound. Once the weather gets colder and you have experienced at least one good hard freeze, the deciduous plants should be dormant and will have dropped their leaves, and you can now propagate them. Just make cuttings about 4 long, dip them in a rooting compound and stick them in the bed of sand. Not everything will root this way, but a lot of things will, and it takes little effort to find out what will work and what wont. This is a short list of just some of the things that root fine this way. Taxus, Juniper, Arborvitae, Japanese Holly, Blue Boy/Girl Holly, Boxwood, Cypress, Forsythia, Rose of Sharon, Sandcherry, Weigela, Red Twig Dogwood, Variegated Euonymus, Cotoneaster, Privet, and Viburnum. Immediately after sticking the cuttings thoroughly soak the sand to make sure there are no air pockets around the cuttings. Keep the cuttings watered once or twice daily as long as the weather is warm. Once winter sets it you can stop watering, but if you get a warm dry spell, water during that time. Start watering again in the spring and throughout out the summer. The cuttings should be rooted by late spring and you can cut back on the water, but dont let them dry out to the point that they burn up. By fall you can transplant them to a bed and grow them on for a year or two, or you can plant them in their permanent location. This technique takes 12 months, but it is simple and easy. Cheap Garden Furniture

By Thomas Morva Garden furniture includes a range of furniture that is commonly used for resting, sitting, and decorative purposes. As the name suggests, the furniture is placed in the garden, and has features that are characteristic of such furniture. They are available in a range of different materials and upholstery selections and can be manufactured using outdoor wood, plastic, cast iron, wrought iron, or wicker. Prices are economical or expensive based upon the material used to manufacture them. Plastic outdoor furniture is long lasting, as it is sturdy and resilient. It is generally considered a one-time buy due to this feature. It is recommended that the garden furniture should be bought, after making a study of the market trends and comparing prices to suit the budget. This helps the customer to zero in on a cheap and feasible range of garden furniture. The competition between the manufacturers helps in lowering the price. Manufacturers often offer discount on garden furniture to attain optimum sales. This provides avenues to get cheap garden material. It is advisable to physically inspect the furniture piece for any flaw before buying it from any sale. It is possible to get cheap garden furniture in closeouts of shops or in garage sales. When purchasing garden furniture, people may go online and browse through the various sites. Trade patterns prove that online purchases prove to be cheaper. This is cheaper as these companies incur minimal overhead expenditure. It allows them to offer products at comparatively lower rates as compared to physical stores. A large number of people choose to construct garden furniture, with the help of carpenters or fabricators. This at times is found to be cheaper than getting manufactured products. When potential buyers purchase a range of garden furniture rather than single purchases, they get them cheaper. Garden Furniture provides detailed information on Garden Furniture, Teak Garden Furniture, Outdoor Garden Furniture, Patio and Garden Furniture and more. Antique Delft and Very Collectible Tiles and Ceramics: Beginners Start Here

By Joy Pearson So you fancy starting a collection but you’re not sure what to collect? How About . . . ? Every home will contain at least one example or more - in the kitchen, the bathroom, the fire surround. How long have they been in existence and what should we look out for when buying an Old Tile. When trying to identify an old tile, the most difficult aspect is where was it made and when. The most famous tiles are referred to as delft. But why? The term delft is derived from the dutch town of Delft. The Netherlands began to produce tin-glazed earthenware in the late 15 century. Potteries were established in many parts of the Netherlands, Amsterdam, Haarlem and Rotterdam, but by the late 17 century Delft had become the most important centre of production and nearly 30 companies were working in the area. The original delft tile designs came about when Chinese porcelain stopped being imported in the mid 17 century and the popular Chinese wares were reproduced in blue and white. Initially made in blue and white, later in the century the Delft potters introduced a wider variety of colours, yellow, purple, blue, red, green and black. Flemish and Dutch potters arrived and settled in London in 1570, but it wasn’t until the 18 century that the delftware tile industry became established in Britian. The main centres were London, Bristol and Liverpool. The tiles usually depicted flowers, ships, landscapes and many scenes of biblical subjects. So now we know that we’re looking for either Duitch delft or English delft, but it’s quite dificult with these early examples to determine the place of origin. A few tips: Dutch delft often has a gritty texture, thick glaze and ‘peppering’ on the surface caused by air bubbles exploding during firing. Dutch tiles are painted in a very assured manner with great skill and expertise. The tin glaze of Dutch tiles is usually whiter because it contains more tin oxides making it liable to craze. British delftware is typically less finely potted and the glaze is often tinged with blue or pink. Colours tend to be more muted due to the absorbency of the tin glaze used. The glaze is much glossier and smoother than Dutch glaze and it does not craze easily. So to sum up: Gritty, thich white glaze, very well painted, crazed ……. Dutch. Smooth, glazed tinged blue or pink, muted colours, little crazing …. English. Now all you have to do is get out there and start looking, but beware - lots of reproductions so take time to do a bit more studying by way of delftware tiles. Also remember, plates, flower bricks, jugs, posset pots, handwarmers, puzzle jugs, char dishes, vases, bowls and beautifully glazed drug jars for use by apothocaries were produced in delftware, but that’s another story. We run a small but beautifully formed General Antiques Shop which is situated in Kirkby Lonsdale In the Yorkshire Dales/Cumbria Border. http://www.architus.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Joy_Pearson http://EzineArticles.com/?Antique-Delft-and-Very-Collectible-Tiles-and-Ceramics:-Beginners-Start-Here&id=46911 ambien lawyers ambien truth serum ambien dosage lethal uses of ativan

Trade Token Use In The United States

By Glyn Farber The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language defines a token as “a piece of stamped metal used as a substitute for currency.” The Dictionary of Numismatic Terms published by the American Numismatic Association says a token is “usually a piece of durable material appropriately marked and unofficially issued for monetary, advertising, services, or other purposes.” Trade Tokens were mainly used in the United States from the late 1800s to about 1940. Although some token use occurred after 1940. Tokens are still used today at most amusement arcades and casinos. Tokens were known by numerous nicknames. Coal miners called them “flickers.” In saloons and bars, particularly those in the Midwest, they were known as “chits.” “Klacker” was popular in Alabama, while “scrip,” “checks,” and “due bills” saw widespread use. The most prevalent name in Louisiana seemed to be “brozine.” The origin of this term is not known, but it is possibly an altered form of “bronze” which was the composition of many tokens. Another terms popular in Louisiana was “doo-ga-loo” with other names seeing localized use. One such term used in the New Orleans area for 2 issues was “quarti” or “quartee,” which may have come from the fact that it represented one-tenth of a quarter. “Good For” or “Trade Token” is a commonly used name today Many different and diverse sources issued tokens, including Lumber Company’s, Sugar and Cotton Plantation commissaries, Bakery, Dairy, Grocery and General Stores, Restaurants, Seafood packing Houses, Saloons, Bars, Billiard, and Pool Hall. Tokens were also used by transportation companies on their buses lines. Plus old Amusement Arcades as well as Modern Arcade, Military Bases, strawberry pickers. Tax tokens were even used to collect taxes and Masons issued Masonic pennies. Tokens were usually made of brass, bronze or aluminum. However cardboard and fiber were also used. Paper coupon books saw some use. The method of use was limited only by the imagination of the issuer, but most fell into one of the following categories: (1) to extend credit to employees, (2) to provide a discount, (3) to make change in unusual amounts, (4) to ensure purchases at a particular business, (5) to designate an amount of work done, (6) to show proof-of-purchase, (7) to attract new customers, (8) to serve as a medium of exchange after a pre-payment, and (9) to control access to certain areas. Glyn Farber has published a catalog of all known Hickey Brother Cigar Store Tokens and co-authored two books about Louisiana Trade Tokens. In addition he wrote several articles for The Token and Medal Society (TAMS) and The National Token Collectors Association (NTCA). Glyn has been a devoted collector of Louisiana Trade Tokens, Louisiana collectibles and Lake Charles, LA postcards for almost 40 years. Seeing Is Believing If You Want To Burn Fat - Or Is It?

By Rob Poulos As with a good majority of the things we do in life, we rely heavily on our vision or eyesight as the determining factor in whether or not we believe something. And this is unfortunatley the case in trying to burn fat as well. Whats the old clich? A picture is worth a thousand words, right? Well, when we lock our eyes onto that photo of that buff guy or buxom bombshell on the cover of the latest fitness or weight loss product, something happens. We get excited. We may even get very excited! Unfortunately, this is something that many in the fitness industry are preying on. They know this and use it to their huge advantage. The process is simple: put a great looking and in-shape guy or girl on a product and it will sell. They dont even have to tell you youll look like that person - they already know your subconscious will assume it will happen. When you’re desperate to burn fat, this is an easy game for the fitness industry to play. And of course a few weeks later if it doesnt, you may start to lose hope and realize that its going to be tough to keep up with the unrealistic and overly strict guidelines. Youve got a life, right? Sure, you want to burn fat, but youve got a job, maybe a family, and other interests in life. Dont get me wrong, I love a great fat burning workout, but I know you dont want to spend every waking hour for the rest of your life working out! All of this happened to me several times over as a young man. I wasnt happy with my weight, wanted to burn fat, and was in search of the most efficient way to get lean, strong, and healthy, but while not spending too much time in the gym, or having to follow crazy diet plans for long periods of time. After more than a decade of experimenting on myself, friends, relatives, and perfect strangers, I assembled some of the secrets that I found to work best at burning fat and in the shortest amount of time, on myself and the others that I worked with. Now, what led me to do this was an incredible amount of frustration that I know thousands of others are going through right now. Why? To answer that, I want you to understand the psychological aspects of what we are up against in the world of health and fitness. What do you call doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? OK, Ill answer this oneInsanity! In some ways, the fitness industry is making you insane in your quest to burn fat and get a lean, strong, and healthy body. Their promises are too good to be true and often they cant typically deliver on them. They are over-promising and under-delivering in many cases. Its a big psychological game that the fitness industry is playing with us, and it dates back to our childhood. When we were kids, we were all taught in school that we could do anything we wanted to do when we grew up. Your parents might have even told you that you can achieve anything you want if you believe in it strongly enough. I know mine did. While this can provide great inspiration in lifes pursuits, it can also be used against you by others, and without you knowing. You are largely a product of your genetic makeup. Just as Mini-Me from the Austin Powers movies could never play in the NBA, a guy like Woody Allen could never win a heavyweight bodybuilding competition. The reality is that these two guys can burn fat and get in the best shape of their life, but our genes are responsible for much of what we end up looking like when in that best shape. But this isnt what the fitness industry will typically tell you - they want you thinking that anyone can look like a genetic freak of natureif you just follow their programs, that is. Please know that I am not saying you are doomed by your geneseveryone can make amazing improvements in their physiques with proper exercise and nutrition habits. Its when we start comparing ourselves to the guys or gals in the magazines that we get into trouble, and get lost in that vicious cycle of hype and sensationalism all too prevalent in fitness and fat burning today. As I mentioned before, youve got a life. Youre a busy person. We all are. We live in a fast-paced society, the information age, where we have so many tasks to complete and so little time to complete them. I dont know about you, but I find myself trying to cram everything I do into those few hours between waking up and going to sleep. Its not easy. Then comes along the fitness gurus telling you that to burn fat and get in great shape youve got to workout everyday or close to it. Youve got to do aerobics or cardiovascular exercise to burn fat, several times a week. Youve got to weight train several other days each week, so that you are literally working out 5-6 days each week, every week. If you want it, youve got to do it, they say. Im here to tell you that nothing could be further from the truth! Many of these programs will also tell you that youve got to follow some crazy diet to burn fat. This might include cutting all or most of your carbs, ingesting loads of supplements or other magic weight loss potions. On top of that, when their programs dont deliver, theyll tell you that everyone is different and that youve got to find what works right for you. Wait a minute…werent they just telling you that their program promises the body on the cover? What they are doing is keeping you in that fitness insanity that I mentioned earlier. They keep you doing the same thing (trying then next hot product or workout and diet regimen) and promising the same great fat burning results. If it doesnt work, they recommend the next great thing. And too many people go on to that next miracle product or promise and the fitness industry uses this to their advantage! Unfortunately the fitness industry, in many ways, has become a cycle of hype and sensationalism. Sure, there are some good-hearted trainers and professionals out there, but even some of them are being controlled by the fitness center owners, magazine publishers, and supplement companies. Thats where the money is! Even if they are trying to help you, they can become unwitting victims to the machine. They advertise their products, programs, and diets by using the cream of the crop in the genetic gene pool. Hey, if it worked for that guy or gal with the amazing physique, it will work for me. I fell for it, too, many times, until I did some serious research and experimentation as I mentioned before. Then one day I finally woke up and discovered for myself the secrets that few people are aware of. Secrets that will never dominate the fitness industrys general recommendations because they are unpopular with the people that control the industry. Why? Because these principles wont sell loads of crazy exercise gimmicks, gadgets, or magic potions. My Fat Burning Furnace students are schooled in the proper application of brief, progressive, and intense resistance training, eating a diet full of nutrient rich foods, drinking tons of water, and getting plenty of quality sleep and rest. But our subconscious mind is powerful, and you have to watch outeven today, I can get sucked in to a compelling late night TV ad, even though I know better. So youve got to stay on guard. If people would pay more attention to proven principles like those I teach my students, and spend less time with the latest butt buster or fat stripper on the market, wed all be healthier, leaner, stronger, and happier for it. And we’d also be burning a heck of a lot more fat in the process. Learn how to ignite your own fat burning furnace without cardio or fad diets and grab your copy of Rob’s fat loss and fitness gifts here: Burn Body Fat Fast Rob Poulos is a fitness enthusiast, fat loss expert, and the founder and CEO of Zero to Hero Fitness. Rob spent the majority of the last decade searching for the most effective and efficient ways to get and stay lean, strong, and healthy. In those past 10 years, Rob experimented with and analyzed numerous exercise and nutrition strategies and protocols promoted by fitness centers, magazines, books, late night TV ads, and the so-called fitness gurus. After several attempts that didnt meet the high standards Rob had set for himself, he became so frustrated with the loads of misinformation on the market that he personally committed to finding the secrets that were hidden in all of the hype and sensationalism all to prevalent in the industry. Finally, after having amassed a great deal of life-changing knowledge and truths, Rob founded Zero to Hero Fitness and created the Fat Burning Furnace fitness system so he could spread the word to others interested in seeking out life long fitness and health. www.fatburningfurnace.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Rob_Poulos http://EzineArticles.com/?Seeing-Is-Believing-If-You-Want-To-Burn-Fat—Or-Is-It?&id=451828 ambien weight loss ambien price online qoclick ambien 5 mg ativan habit forming

College Essays

By Ken Marlborough College essays are of great importance when seeking admission to a college. In this regard, choice of a topic is very significant. College essays reveal the individual characteristics of the student and help the College Board in forming a correct picture regarding the students preferences, value systems, sense of humor, discipline and other core aspects. The primary questions any college essay usually addresses are the students reasons for choosing a particular institution. The authorities will also try to evaluate the creative and critical skills of the prospective student. Therefore the student should choose a topic with great care. Once the topic is finalized, it is advisable to prepare a rough draft. It is important that the points for the essay are thought out and put into a preliminary order, so that the rough draft can be prepared well in advance. The rough draft will help to bring focus to the rambling ideas and enable a creative reorganization of the same. Just as in normal essay writing, the college essay has to be divided into paragraphs. Each paragraph can elaborate a point discussed. Economy of words is a desirable quality. The college essay is ideally one written in a focused style, since a rambling style can distract the reader. An uncalled for ornate style is best avoided — simple language very often serves the purpose. College essays should be proofread thoroughly so that typos, grammatical and spelling errors do not occur. Any references made have to be properly cited, so that nothing is left vague. Slang usage has to be necessarily avoided; repetition of the same idea is another pitfall that the student has to stay away from. The essay should encode the enthusiasm and eagerness of the student and must never be written in an indifferent style. A well-written college essay will highlight the sincerity, commitment and creativity of the applicant. The college essay is in every way the best and practical tool to ensure enrollment in an institution of ones choice. 4 Great Reasons To Interplant Herbs & Flowers With Your Vegetable Crops

By Julie Williams Interplanting just means growing several different plants amongst each other. There are many benefits to growing herbs and flowers throughout your vegetable crops one is that they look great, combining beauty and purpose. The original cottage garden style is believed to have evolved from the interplanting of herbs and flowers amongst the vegetables. So what benefits are there to growing plants together in the veggie garden? 1. Confuse Garden Pests by interplanting a variety of plants together. This masks the smell and shapes of plants which pests use to locate their favourite foods. For example: if you plant carrots and onions together it confuses both the onion fly and carrot fly! Generally speaking, the greater variety of herbs and flowers you have growing in your vegetable garden, the fewer insect problems you’ll have. 2. Encourage Beneficial Insects by planting flowers and herbs that they love to live near. Garlic chives, dill, fennel, garlic chives, parsley, shasta daisies, yarrow and flowers of the aster family are favourites of many beneficial insect, including parasitic wasps, ladybird beetles and lacewings. The adult insects feed on flower nectar and pollen, then lay eggs on garden crops. When the eggs hatch, the ravenous larvae of these beneficial insects devour the pests that may plague your crops. This way the pest and beneficial insects balance themselves out just as nature intended. 3. Attract Pollinators to your garden with nectar and pollen rich flowers or flowers in shades of blue, yellow or white. This will attract bees and other pollinators, making sure you get good fruit set in crops such as tomatoes, eggplant, peppers and cucurbits. 4. Reduce Weeds by interplanting as thickly as possible. This is particularly useful for gardeners with little space. Planting thickly provides a living mulch, allowing little opportunity for weeds to take over. Formal gardens with many sections for specific types of plants was once a great indulgence of the rich. Some people still seem to like the mono-culture look, but I prefer my garden a little on the wild side. And my garden rewards me with an ongoing supply of fresh vegetables, herbs and flowers all living happily together. Nature doesnt create a line in the earth and have one species grow on one side, with another species growing on the other. Diversity is one of the great splendours of nature. Can you imagine a rain forest with just two or three species growing there? By interplanting and using Companion Planting techniques we can emulate nature and encourage eco-systems and bio-diversity in our own back yards.
